God Provides More than We Can Imagine

Bosse - Gothenburg, Sweden

My wife and I had been living in Scotland for nearly two years, and were planning on going back to Gothenburg in Sweden by early October 2002. We had lived there previously and wanted to return to re-start a Christian house group, together with a friend of ours. During this time, I was working for an international company who had said that they might transfer me to Sweden, provided that business improved there. However, time was passing by and there was no sign that we could move back to Sweden as soon as we had wished to. I then started to apply for jobs in Gothenburg, and after some weeks of searching and praying, I was invited for an interview with a Swedish company. I went over to Sweden, had the interview and got the job. It was a very good job and was in the line of work I had studied.

Back in Scotland, I handed in my resignation to my boss. He was disappointed, but said that there was not much that could be done about it.

I then had two weeks holiday, and on returning to work, a colleague of mine asked if there was anything that could keep me in the job. I let him know that my wife and I aimed to move to Gothenburg by the end of September, and that I had already accepted another job offer. My colleague said he would speak to my boss. The next day, my boss called me into his office and asked if there was still a possibility that I might stay with the company. I told him about our plans, and also that I had another job. On hearing this, my boss offered me a huge pay rise and said that we could also move to Gothenburg whenever it suited us, and that I would be able to work from home initially.

At this stage I was not sure what to say or do as I had already signed the contract with the new employer. I prayed and asked for a lot of advice, and then contacted the new company and let them know what I had been offered. They said that they would in no way force me to keep the contract and let me choose whichever job I preferred. They were even keen to keep in touch for any business ventures.

I then went back to my boss and accepted the offer. Both he and I were very happy about this solution. This meant that we could arrive in Gothenburg on the 1st of October.

My wife was also blessed with a job very close to where we now live. The Lord continued to bless us and we were able to buy a nice house outside Gothenburg in December. Only 6 months prior to leaving Scotland, I could not have dreamed of all of this. However, it was the fruit of trusting in the Lord and obedience to Godly advice that enabled it to come true. In the past, I often doubted the promises of God. However during my time in Scotland I learned to trust and obey, and the Lord’s answer was powerfully seen in these fantastic blessings.
