Healed from Neurodermitis
Hi, my name is Hazel and I would like to share with you how God healed me from neurodermitis (atopic dermatitis).
It started when I was 20. I had moved into a new apartment and first believed my symptoms had to do with the water there, since I already had sensitive skin. My skin became red and a little itchy. I had a bruise looking patch on my calf, which didn’t disappear. As I was worried, I went to a dermatologist to get it checked out and found out that I had neurodermitis. Over the next few weeks, it spread all over my body, apart from my face; for which I was thankful. Now my skin wasn’t just reddish, but also scaly, flaky and extremely itchy. The worst news was that there is no cure for it. You can relieve it by eating healthily and avoiding stress. Back then I had a lot of emotional stress, which then of course made it worse, but at least I changed my diet. The extreme tormenting of the itchiness by itself caused stress, so it was a vicious circle. Scratching somewhat relieved the itch, but the time I was done scratching, I was either bleeding or sore. It was very hard to accept all this and to know I had to live with these conditions and restrictions for the rest of my life.
During this time I got saved and also received prayer for my neurodermitis. I didn’t get healed. Later, when visiting Scotland, in one of our meetings, one of the elders anointed a young girl with oil and prayed for her. She was healed. I had seen the scripture in JAMES 5:14,15 before, where it says: “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church: and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of the faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him”
, but had never seen this, so I was very fascinated by it. I was too shy and unsure if I could receive the same kind of prayer.
I was about to leave Scotland to go back to Germany, and I was over at one of our elders’ house to say goodbye when I told him about my neurodermitis and asked if I could also get anointed with oil. He said, "Of course!", and came back from his kitchen with some oil. He put a dab of it on my forehead and prayed for me to get healed from neurodermitis. When he was done praying, I knew that I was healed. Something amazing had happened during the prayer which so convinced me of the healing that even though I still had the symptoms, I knew I was healed. For the next 2 weeks, or so, I believed and confessed to myself that I was healed. Then the redness, the scales and the itching completely disappeared! And I never had any problems with this again. This was about 8 years ago! Two things I learnt were to eat healthily and, most importantly, not to give up hope to be healed from any disease or condition – curable or incurable, even if you have already received prayer for it.
Thanks for reading my testimony!
Hazel

God Bless you for your
God Bless you for your testimony! I have been suffering with Neurodermotitis for years and in the last few weeks it has been unbearable! I have been a very healthy eater, mostly organic and borderline vegetarian. My neurodermititus seems to be caused by stress and hormone related issues. Even though I try to give my worries over to God, my body takes over and I start itching. Your testimony reminds me not to give up hope! Thank you for sharing your story!

Hi Michelle, thanks for
Hi Michelle, thanks for writing! My husband and I have been praying for you and will continuing doing so! We have a prayer team that prays for people daily. I hope it's ok that I asked the prayer team to include you in their prayers.
One scripture that might help you is found in Proverbs 17:22 "A merry heart doeth good [like] a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.". So it's very important to be and stay positive even if it's hard. I believe the Lord can and will heal you since it says in Mark 10:27 "... for with God all things are possible." He also died not just for our sins, but also our diseases: Isaiah 53:5 "But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
It would be great to hear from you and how you are doing (if there is any improvement or anything specific we can pray for) So if you would like my email address, you can get it by writing to info@cai.org.
Love in Christ,
Hazel
Hazel, Thank you so much for
Hazel,
Thank you so much for the prayers and the words of encouragement! It is definitely helping!!! I am learning to focus on God as soon as the itching starts and it stops. Praises to God! Also, I received confirmation from God by the verse you quoted in Isaiah. It was the same verse that I kept hearing in the healing class that I attend at our church! I will keep you posted.
Your Sister in Christ,
Michelle
