Huge Debts Repaid

Nearly 10 years ago I had to close my publishing company because of debts of about 35,000 Euro. Nevertheless, as a Christian, I trusted that the Lord would help me. The story of a Korean salt salesman, who lost all his stock during a flood catastrophe, encouraged me greatly. This man praised God in his empty storeroom, where all his salt had been washed away. He said, “the LORD has given, the LORD has taken away, blessed be the LORD!” (paraphrased from JOB 1:21).

I had to discipline myself a lot regarding my finances: firstly I had to get an overview of my debts and find out which ones I should pay back first. I then asked for advice, started budgeting, and learned to be faithful from month to month. I worked full time, did extra jobs and controlled all my expenses.

During this time I had a deep revelation about the scripture in MALACHI 3:10 "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Once I took God at His Word, my finances were blessed in all kinds of ways and I often did not know where all the money to pay back my debts came from. I received good wages and extra money all these years and also saved money through practical help and support from brethren in the church and my relatives.

Nevertheless, I did not want to compromise with God’s work and made sure that the Lord took priority. I did not miss any of our church’s meetings, hosted guests at my apartment, visited the Assemblies in Australia and also travelled to Russia and Scotland to help out in the Lord’s work.

Meanwhile I am now paying back my last little bit of debt - PRAISE THE LORD for this miracle!

I am very thankful and hope this testimony encourages others also to trust in the Lord and start believing His promises in the Bible.

These testimonies are very encouraging. I will learn to trust in our Lord Jesus Christ from now on and lean not on my own strength and wits.
