Miraculous birth of our little daughter.

Hello everyone,

I would like to tell you about the miraculous birth of our little daughter, Susannah Grace. The first half of my pregnancy went very well until I suffered a ruptured membrane at 21 weeks. This was not due to lifting heavy objects or straining my body, it just happened spontaneously.

Each week I went to the local hospital for routine check-ups and scans and was told that the baby might be born prematurely. I had to stop work and rest most of the time to keep the loss of blood and fluid to a minimum. During this time my husband and my friends helped me with my housework. From the scans one could see that there was hardly any fluid around the baby and the doctor repeatedly told me that the baby only had a slim chance of survival. There were two other serious risks for the baby: if she were born prematurely her kidneys and her lungs would not be fully mature, as these require a long time to develop. After getting advice we decided that I should have steroid injections to help the baby’s muscles develop. This would also give her lungs a better chance of being more mature.

I counted the days and weeks as every single day would give the baby a better chance of survival. I also spent a lot of time reading and praying, which gave me a lot of strength and built up my faith. I knew I had to get my life in order and seek the Lord. Reading the book, “Healing the Sick” from T.L. Osborne helped me a lot as he writes about deliverance from sin and sickness alike and about speaking positively. During this time many people from our church were praying for the health and survival of our unborn child.

At 28 weeks I contracted an infection and my temperature climbed drastically within a very short period of time. The doctor said that the womb was full of pus and that it was very serious. The result was that our baby had to be delivered by emergency caesarean section.

Our little girl was born! She weighed 985 grams and was unable to breathe by herself. Gracie was placed in the intensive care ward for 6 weeks and then for another 3 weeks in the special care nursery until she was able to come home.

Now Gracie is already 2-years-old and has started walking. She is a bundle of energy and joy and is perfectly healthy, bringing us and others a lot of joy. We would like to thank everybody for all the support we received. Above all I give praise and honour to God as He (Jesus Christ) is the principal life-giver. With Him all things are possible! Praise the Lord!
